Job Description

The Housekeeping Supervisor is in charge of monitoring housekeeping staff in the hotel.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Maintaining stocks.
  • Ordering cleaning products.
  • Supervising housekeepers.
  • Seeing to it that shifts are been observed.
  • Training new employees and taking corrective actions when necessary.
  • Obtains occupancy list to determine rooms to be cleaned immediately and list of prospective check-outs or discharges to prepare work assignments.
  • Liaises with the housekeeping employees and attends meetings to discuss issues pertaining to the department.
  • Records data regarding work assignments for employees and prepares periodic reports.
  • Assigning housekeeping tasks to the staff and inspecting work to ensure that the prescribed standards of cleanliness are met.
  • Investigating and addressing complaints regarding poor housekeeping services.
  • Performing various cleaning duties in case of staff shortages.
  • Checking rooms and common areas, including stairways and lounge areas for cleanliness.
  • Conducts regular inspections of all guests rooms, public areas, pool area, car park, dustbin area, terrace bar and gym

The supervisor’s overall role is to communicate organizational needs, oversee employees’ performance, provide guidance and support, identify development needs and manage the reciprocal relationship between staff and the management to bring productivity.

Required Skills or Experience

Qualification

  • Minimum of Degree in Hospitality Management or its equivalent
