Flinders University in Australia is offering scholarship opportunities for individuals who wish to pursue postgraduate programs at the institution but lack the financial means to do so.
Why You Should Apply For The Flinders University Research Scholarships (FURS)
The scholarship pays an indexed stipend of $35,010 p.a. tax free (2025 full time rate). Recipients who are Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens, or hold Australian Permanent Residency status will be provided a RTP fee Offset which covers tuition fees charged by the university for up to four years.
A limited number of fee waiver scholarships may be available for International students.
International students who are not in receipt of a fee waiver scholarship will be required to pay the normal tuition fees.
Eligibility Requirements for Flinders University Research Scholarships (FURS)
Awards will only be available to those who:
- Are Australian citizens; or New Zealand citizens; or have been granted permanent resident status;
- Are an international student who has completed an honours or equivalent qualification at an Australian University no more than three years prior to the application closing date;
- Have completed at least four years of tertiary education studies at a high level of achievement and have an appropriate Honours 1 or high 2A (or equivalent) undergraduate degree;
- Are enrolling as full-time students;
- Will commence or are continuing a Masters degree by research or Doctorate by research;?
- Have had their candidature accepted in the area in which they propose to undertake their studies.?

Selection of award holders will be undertaken by the Scholarships Committee based on academic merit and research potential.
Applications will be ranked according to the University HDR Ranking Guidelines
The University will give priority to students undertaking a higher degree by research for the first time.
