Job Description
- Develop, implement, and update comprehensive safety policies, procedures, and programs in line with health and safety laws and best practices.
- Identify potential workplace hazards through site inspections and risk assessments, then recommend and implement strategies to control or eliminate these risks.
- Monitor workplace conditions to ensure strict adherence to safety regulations, company policies, and legislative requirements.
- Plan and deliver safety training sessions for all employees, including new hires, on topics like emergency procedures, equipment use, and safe work practices.
- Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine their root causes and implement corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
- Actively promote a “safety-first” culture throughout the organization, encouraging employees to adopt safe practices and contribute to a safer environment.
- Conduct regular safety audits to evaluate the effectiveness of existing safety programs and identify areas for continuous improvement.
Qualification Required & Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field is a common requirement.
- 2-3 years Proven experience as a Safety Officer in a similar industry, demonstrating practical knowledge of hazard identification and risk assessment, is crucial.
- In-depth understanding of relevant safety regulations, legal requirements, industry standards, and best practices is essential.
