A well-established Oil Trading Company in Ghana is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Downstream Oil Trading Manager to oversee its petroleum trading operations. This role involves strategic management of trading activities to ensure profitability, regulatory compliance, effective risk management and proper documentation. The successful candidate will play a key role in market analysis, trading strategy development, contract negotiation, and relationship management with suppliers, customers and service providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing and managing trading strategies based on market analysis
- Identifying profitable trading opportunities in petroleum products
- Negotiating contracts and spot deals with suppliers and customers
- Executing trades and managing physical and paper trading books
- Ensuring timely and accurate entry of trade data into trading systems
- Managing inventory, storage and logistics of oil and petroleum products
- Identifying and mitigating potential risks associated with trading activities
- Ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations
- Implementing and maintaining strong internal control frameworks
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships with traders, third parties, and other stakeholders
- Managing relationships with in-country agents and service providers
Qualification Required & Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or any relevant degree
- A strong proven record in driving sales and contract management
- Extensive experience in all aspects of developing and maintaining marketing strategies to meet an organization objective
- A minimum of 5 years of working experience in a related field with supervisory responsibilities
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and risk management practices
- A valid driving license is required
