President Appoints New GES Director General.

President Akufo-Addo has appointed Dr. Eric Nkansah as the new Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES).

In a letter published on Wednesday, October 19, and signed by Nana Bediatuo Asante, the President’s Secretary, the Presidency announced his appointment.

“I am pleased to inform you that the resident has appointed you to act as the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (the Service) pending receipt of the constitutionally required advice of the Governing Council of the Service, given in consultation with the Public Service Commission,” the letter read in part.

In order for Dr. Eric Nkansah to accept or reject his appointment as the new GES Director-General, he has fourteen days to do so.

It also comes just a day after Prof. Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa was shown the exit because his services were no longer needed at the GES.
