The University Information Technology Services, (UITS) is looking for final year students from the following departments; Computer Science, Physics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Telecom Engineering and Business Information Technology to undertake their National Service for the 2022/2023 Academic Year in the following areas of expertise.

1. Cyber/Information Security Assistant
Required Skill: Knowledge in OWASP Framework, Cyber Security concepts ie. web security, network security etc.
2. Data Management
Required Skill: Database Administration, Business Intelligence and Data Analytics, Data Warehousing, Data Lakes, Big Data Management. Knowledge in Structured Query Language (SQL) and/or use of tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Talend, etc. is a plus
3. Hardware Technician
Required Skill: Hardware troubleshooting and data recovery skills. Laptop screen and component replacement. Desktop diagnosis and repair ( motherboards, power, components). Knowledge of MAC hardware and systems Knowledge in soldering, and use of diagnostic equipment (multimeter, rework station etc…)
4. Mobile App Developer
Required Skill: Mobile Application Developers – working knowledge of one or more key solution technologies including Swift, Java, Kotlin, Dart (Flutter), Web Services, XCode and Android Development Studio.
5. Networking
Required Skill: Should have good troubleshooting and diagnostic skills in at least, two of these areas; Internet Connectivity, LAN, Wireless, VoIP, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, Routing, Active Directory and VLANS
6. Research Assistant
Required Skill: Good questionnaire development skills, Data collection and analysis.
7. Software Developer
Required Skill: C#, Microsoft SQL Server, .NET 6, Embarcadero ER Studio, PHP, Python, Django, CSS, JavaScript, MVC/MVT, MySQL and Database Concepts + experience with CMS, e-Learning Platforms such as Moodle, related Library Management Systems, Word Press and Drupal.
8. Systems Administration
Required Skill: Knowledge in Linux/Windows OS Administration and Configuration Management. Knowledge in SysOps/DevOps, Identity and Access Management, Active Directory, Virtualization, Cloud Computing is a plus
9. System Support and Device Management
Required Skill: Knowledge in troubleshooting and administration of Operating Systems. ( Windows, Linux, MacOS ). Knowledge in troubleshooting software packages, software installation and anti virus administration. Knowledge in mobile device management (upgrades and configuration) Knowledge in online software suites(Google apps, Microsoft tools) and help desk/support software.
