Thomas Partey, a Ghanaian player, has spoken out months after news of his conversion to Islam went viral. He claims that his desire to become a Muslim was motivated by his love for his Moroccan lover.
Thomas Partey said he grew raised among Muslims and doesn’t perceive any difference in a video shared by TV broadcaster Nana Aba Anamoah. Yakubu was the name given to him when he converted, he told Nana Aba. In March 2022, news went rife that Ghanaian footballer Thomas Partey had converted to Islam.
This came after a photo of the midfielder clutching the Quran with a certified marriage official in London went popular on social media.
“Praise be to God who guides whoever wills,” the Imam wrote in a tweet.
May God Almighty strengthen him in his faith in Islam.”

Despite the fact that Thomas Partey has remained silent about his conversion, he told Broadcaster Nana Aba Anamoah about it.
He jokingly added that he knows his side chicks would leave him because of the decision he has taken but he does not mind.
