NSMQ 2023 Today: Day Two Fixtures of One-Eighth Stage
On the first day of the One-Eighth Stage on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, some seeded schools, including Adisadel College, Adventist SHS, and Swedru SHS, failed to maintain their seeded positions. This means they will have to start from the regional level in next year’s competition
The day commenced with a thrilling performance from Wesley Girls’ SHS, annihilating Holy Child School and Ghanata SHS. And concluded with another remarkable performance from St. Louis Girls’ SHS in Oduom, Kumasi.
They exterminated ADISCO, figuratively ‘dragging the zebra boys down the hill’ and securing a seeded position in next year’s competition. ADISCO, on the other hand, will begin their journey on the regional stage next year.
Anglican SHS, the 2023 Ashanti Regional Champion, once again put up a disappointing performance on the big stage. However, they managed to advance to the next stage, with just one point separating them from Adventist SHS, Bantama.
On the other side, Kumasi High School faced a challenging contest but managed to secure their place in the next stage, with only 4 points separating them from Okuapeman SHS.
Achimota School emerged as the top scorer of the day, winning their contest with an impressive 66 points. However, the day’s unsung hero was Mpraeso SHS, who secured victory with 43 points, surpassing Ghana National College and Aggrey Memorial Zion SHS.
The stage is set for day two of the one-eighth contests of this year’s National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ), which will take place today, Thursday, October 12, 2023.
